There appear to be no respite for the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, as the National Judicial Council, NJC, has issued a fresh query to him.
The NJC in its query, has ordered him to respond to a fresh petition lodged against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. EFCC.
The decision was taken after its emergency meeting in Abuja on Monday, whereby Onnoghen has been given seven working days. to respond to the allegations raised against him by the EFCC.
The NJC further constituted a Preliminary Complaints Assessment Committee, to consider responses to both Onnoghen and the Acting CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad, to various petitions against them.
According to a statement issued by its Director (Information), Soji Oye, the council will reconvene on Wednesday to take a final decision on the fate of Justices Onnoghen and Muhammad
