Just like the saying that when it rains in Carlifornia, it pours; the same could apply for embattled senator and former governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha, that when troubles come knocking, it pours.
It is not enough to be declared a persona – non grata in one’s own state for his alleged role in empowering youths to beat up the security adviser to the incumbent governor, Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku when he stormed Okorocha’s Spibat estate residence to recover Imo property as the chair of the committee, but youths in his constituency are set to recall him.
In a statement by the Orluzurumee Youth Assembly the socio-cultural group which is the unifier of the 12 local government areas in Orlu zone convoked a general assembly on Saturday, August 31 and informed the general public that it has constituted a seven-man Committee headed by Prince Collins Opurozor to head the recall process of Okorocha.
It reasons include that since Okorocha became senator, he has not represented the interest of his zone but himself alone. That he has no constituency office and has held not held any constituency briefing whatsoever. That he seeks inputs from nobody, and has never for once made any case in the Senate for the amelioration of the plight of the people he pretends to represent.
The group is also not happy with the ‘unprintable manner in which Chief Okorocha smuggled himself into the Senate as they refuse to allow Orlu Zone become the poster boy for electoral brigandage and usurpation of mandate.’
It added that Chief Okorocha has become a threat to the peace, security and safety of its people. He was accused of allegedly raising his own militia men to crush innocent people and destroy lives and property. To that end, the group declares that ‘Chief Okorocha has also become a national security threat to Nigeria, and we advise the Federal Government to quickly add him on the terror watchlist.’
‘We aver that Chief Okorocha has become morally unfit to represent us, given the mind- boggling revelations being made by the incumbent Government in Imo State about the theft of hundreds of billions of Naira perpetrated by Chief Okorocha when he was in office as Governor.’
